Abingdon Roofing completed a roof project for Avoca Christian Church due to the hail storm of 2011. When Abingdon Roofing was called out on the project another un-licensed shingle contractor was involved in the claim. Avoca Christian was looking for a roofing company who could bring professional representation with the Insurance Company. Abingdon Roofing performed inspections on all of the roofs which included core cuts. Due to our representation for Avoca Christian they were able to get a claim to reroof all of the existing roofs and get their R value of insulation up to code.

Abingdon went in and started reroofing 7 roofs on various buildings. This process consisted of roof tear offs, insulation installation and finally new membrane installation on a total of 35,000 square ft.

Firestone TPO single-ply membranes were used in the replacement roofs. With heat welded seams and Ultra Ply TPO membrane, this roofing system is flexible and retains adhesion in cold weather where it is most needed. The drywall and ceiling tile were also replaced in certain parts of the building before the job was completed.

All materials and labor fell under a 15 year, no limit material and labor warranty. Abingdon completed this work in a timely manner while saving the customer all costs which would have been associated with replacing these roofs in the future.

Facility management and owners noticed leaks in the existing roof and contacted several roofing companies to obtain quotes for replacement. Abingdon Roofing, with their years of experience and expertise, immediately noticed this roof had been damaged due to hail. We contacted the owner and informed them of the situation. The owner chose Abingdon Roofing to represent their interest with the insurance company and to install the project.

The existing membrane was removed and replaced with upgraded insulation to get the building up to the existing code requirements for insulation for this building type. A 60 mil Firestone TPO roof system was installed after removing the existing single-ply membrane. In the end, a more efficient structure was created while maintaining a safe and hazard free environment. Abingdon Roofing furnished a manufacturer’s twenty-five year no dollar limit material and labor warranty to ensure that the roofing system maintains its watertight condition throughout its life.
